Question: What is wrong with being addicted to something? Everyone is addicted to something right now, but people seem to have this great fear and abhorrence for drug addiction without really explaining or knowing why it seems.
Definition: addiction is a state in which the body relies on a substance for normal functioning and develops physical dependence. When this substance is suddenly removed, it will cause withdrawal, a characteristic set of signs and symptoms

I recently moved to Michigan from Florida. I have been an addict for 14 years. I am four weeks clean now and plan on staying that way. I moved to Michigan to start over and change my life. I am safe with my sister and her family. My boyfriend called me today and wants to move up here with me. I am not sure if that is a good idea because I want to be clean and he is also an addict. He will be 45 days clean when coming here. He has been an addict for 15 years. My sister thinks this could somehow stop my recovery. What do you think? I would just some opinions. I love him and he loves me but is that enough.

Currently, no. To get a medical marijuana license in Michigan, you have to be diagnosed with a physical medical problem, typically cancer, crohn’s, chronic pain, MS, glaucoma, possibly muscular dystrophy, fibromyalgia, or something of that nature. Mental problems are not considered to be treatable by marijuana. When you have such mental issues, it is thought that you are more susceptible to drug addiction and abuse.
